This is by far the best wushu jian/gim I have ever handled! The grip is very comfortable, and allows you to hold the sword in the more traditional manner (middle of grip) as well as the more modern wushu manner (top of the grip/at the guard). The balance is approximately one half of an inch from the handguard, which makes the sword very light-feeling and fast to move around. Because of the reinforcing rib in the first half of the blade, all of the wobble and bending is in the weak of the sword, while the strong remains stiff, and sturdy! The only reason I am giving this four stars is because it is still, in my opinion, too wobbly. Although it only flexes and whips in the top half, or weak of the blade, the blade at the top half is so thin that when holding the sword flat, the blade droops towards the ground. This is not a huge problem, and I am not very upset by this, since it is still a wushu sword and not a traditional, stiff sword. On the other hand, the "snapping" or "popping" sound with this sword is both easier to do, and sounds better than with other, cheaper wushu swords, in my opinion. All in all, this was a great purchase, and is serving me well in learning jian from my Sifu. Money well-spent!
