OHG -3 Hung Gar Butterfly Knives vs. Double ends Staff

I ordered these knives as an upgrade to my basic standard cheapo set of $60 Butterfly knives. Butterfly knives of course can go from the basic $60 kind to more than $500 depending on what you need them for. For my use it was for Wing Chun training and we use these just to have something a bit "weighty" in our hands when practicing wing Chun. In MY Wing Chun we don't flip the knives but in my Hung style training we flip the knives. The knife guards are a little close for flipping, a bit tight for that so for Hung style training or if you require the flipping of knives then I recommend the guards be a little bigger and smoother for ease of flipping (where he knife spins around your thumb). So for my Wing Chun practice they are good for me. These knives are such that they fit together so that they look like a single knife. For more comfort and if this idea is not important then I would get maybe knives that don't fit together so tat you have a full rounded handle instead of the half handle (lengthwise). But for me these are an upgrade to what I had and I am happy with them. Maybe when I get better then I can upgrade again.
