I order these for my students, so I've seen a lot of them and the quality is consistently high. The blade is real steel, and generally does not tarnish or rust, even if you don't take the best care of it. The only complaint is that the larger blade sizes are a bit tip-heavy, and the flexibility of the steel makes these larger sizes a bit wobbly for use in traditional forms. If you want a firmer blade, go for a slightly smaller size.
